Nepal Protests:  While Kathmandu is burning in the fire of violence, 900 km away in Jharsuguda, Odisha, about 3,000 Nepalis are standing in queue in search of government jobs. On the other hand, the most violent protests in recent history are taking place in their country, where young protesters set fire to government buildings, attacked institutions and forced Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to resign after an anti-corruption movement.

While Kathmandu is burning in the Gen-Z movement, in Jharsuguda, Nepali youths are quietly queuing up outside the Odisha Special Armed Police's 2nd Battalion headquarters. Applications have been invited for only 135 posts, which are for Nepali girls and Indian Gurkhas. A Nepali youth said, "No job, no income, we have to come here." For many, coming to India is a compulsion, as opportunities in Nepal are limited.

Anger over unemployment and corruption

Unemployment has long been a serious problem in Nepal, especially for the youth. Another Nepali said, 'Nepal's young generation is going abroad for employment. The government should have paid attention to the youth, but they did not.'

Gen-Z staged a coup in Nepal

This movement against corruption in government departments and social media ban forced PM Oli to resign. A youth said, 'There is a lot of corruption and unemployment there. Ollie never did his job

A youth who came for a job said, 'Our Prime Minister (KP Sharma Oli) was never able to do his work. That is why the youth ousted him. This generation needs leaders who do not just speak words but work.'
